Six friends gather for a weekend at a lake house, where conversation, food and easy arguments create the surface of leisure. That surface fractures as flashbacks expose pain, violence and emotional distance in their private lives. The lake becomes a dark mirror: what is submerged will rise.

Sophie Treadwell's 1928 expressionist drama, inspired by a notorious murder case, follows a young woman crushed by the machinery of social expectation and fighting for one fleeting sense of freedom. In the Khan Theatre production, Stark played Helen, a role built from silence, pressure and revolt.

Mikhael Gurevich's Happiness turns a three-storey building into a comic-philosophical machine. A married couple, an elderly father, four card players and two spectators are drawn into an interactive promise of surprise, comfort and supreme happiness — only to expose the fragile mechanics beneath it.

Inspired by Antonin Artaud's Heliogabalus, or the Crowned Anarchist, this stage work follows the young Syrian emperor as he pulls Rome into a world where decadence becomes order and order becomes anarchy. Stark's performance is part of a highly physical theatrical language of power, ritual and collapse.
