Homefront

Homefront

Saturday morning, October 7, 7:00 a.m. Rivkaleh and Eliyahu are watching television when the news breaks: war has begun. Eliyahu, elderly and determined, wants to go to the front and fight for the home; Rivkaleh insists it is time to move into assisted living. In this tender absurdist drama, a loving couple tries to understand a collapsing reality from the safety of their living room, holding on to imagination, memory and each other as age, loss and missed time close in.

Written by Sharon Ingrid Stark and Ruti Borenstein · Directed by Sharon Stark · Developed within Mifal HaPais' "Counter-Reaction" initiative, with support from the Rabinovich Foundation

An absurdist situation comedy by Marius von Mayenburg that turns domestic life into a trapdoor. A couple returns from vacation to find their apartment strangely neglected; from that moment on, identities shift, truths collapse and relationships are rebuilt on unstable ground. With ruthless comic timing, Perplex scrambles the personal and the political, exposing the stories we invent in order to survive reality.

A Family on the Train

A Family on the Train

A dreamlike stage journey about a family fleeing its homeland on a train that never stops. As the landscape keeps changing and no destination is named, the play travels from intimate psychology to national fixation — displacement, memory, inheritance and survival. Stark's production keeps the work suspended between concrete detail and abstraction, where motion becomes both refuge and sentence.
